Odisha’s Talcher Fertilizers (TFL) project in the Angul district has achieved an overall physical progress of 72.97% as of August 31, 2026. Backed by a revised project cost of Rs 19,062.22 crore, the coal-gasification facility is slated for completion by December 2027. Once operational, the landmark plant will use advanced gasification to convert domestic coal into synthesis gas, producing approximately 1.27 million tonnes of urea annually and establishing an alternative feedstock route to conventional natural gas.
